Lecture cum-inductive / deductive method.
Previous knowledge :
In order to check previous knowledge of students, teacher will ask questions such as, Do you know what we put in food to taste it better Tell me the bus that carry you here is made of? What is formula for water?
Announcing the topic :
Dear students, Today we are going to learn about “periodic table” .
Presentation:
teacher Will deliver lecture on Periodic table The periodic table is an arrangement of all the elements known to man in accordance with their increasing atomic number and recurring chemical properties. They are assorted in a tabular arrangement wherein a row is a period and a column is a group. Elements are arranged from left to right and top to bottom in the order of their increasing atomic numbers.
Mendeleev’s periodic table Dimitri Mendeleev, widely referred as the father of the periodic table put forth the first iteration of the periodic table similar to the one we use now. Mendeleev’s periodic law is different from the modern periodic table Modern periodic table The modern periodic table, the one we use now, is a new and improved version of certain models put forth by scientists in the 19th and 20th century.
Total number of elements 118 Elements are present in the Periodic Table. At present, 118 elements are known to us. All these have different properties. Out of these 118, only 94 are naturally occurring List of elements.
Summative evaluation:
Arrange all jumbled elements given in your book Tell me symbol of Hydrogen, Carbon, Nitrogen and Helium. Homework: Separate metallic and non metallic elements Write symbol of 10 gaseous elements.
